amount of lessons allocated = 1  +  1

                                               8       4

amount of lessons allocated = 1  +  2

                                                   8

amount of lessons allocated = 3

                                                8

Now, the total number of lessons  = 1 = 8

                                                                8

Fraction for other subjects = total number of lessons  -  amount of lessons allocated.

Fraction for other subjects =  8  -  3

                                              8     8

Fraction for other subjects =  5 

                                              8    

Hence fraction for other subjects is ⁵/8
