=log50,000

 

=log(100,000÷ 2)

 

=log100,000 – log2

 

=log10⁵ – log2

 

=5log10 – log2

 

=(5x1) – (0.3010)

 

=5 – 0.3010)

  

=4.699

 

Hence log50,000=4.699
