PROBABILITY 4

When a die is tossed, find the probability of having a prime number.

Solution

n(E) = {2,3,5}=3;            n(S) ={1,2,3,4,5,6}=6;

P(E) = n(E)
           n(S)

P(E)= 3 1
          62

P(E)= 1
         2

Hence probability of getting a prime number is 1/2
