Prove that ABC and DCE are congruent in the following figure.



Solution

Given: figure ABCED.

Required to prove: ABC and DCE are congruent

Proof: AC = CD    (given)

<BAC = <CDE = 500 (given)

<ACB = <DCE (opposite angles)

HenceACB DCE by AAS rule (proved)
