CONGRUENCE OF SIMPLE POLYGONS B2

Prove that the following triangle is isosceles.

Solution

Given: triangle JKL with K produced to X.

Required to prove: JKL is isosceles

Proof: JX = XL (given)

<JXK = <LXK = 900 (given)

KX = XK (common line)

LXM NXM by SAS rule

KJ = KL (Equal corresponding sides)

Hence JKL is isosceles (proved)
