COORDINATE GEOMETRY C9

Find the slope of a line which passes through (3, -2) and (6, 6).

Solution

x1 = 3,  y1 =-2,  x2 = 6,  y2 = 6

m = y2 –y1
      x2 – x1

m =   -9 – 6
         6 – 3

m =   -15
           3

m =    -5

Hence the slope is -5
