THE Nth TERM 1

The nth term of a sequence is 6n -  8 + n². Find the 5th term.

Solution

=   6n -  8 + n²                                    

=   (6x5) -  8 + (5)²          [ since n=5 ]    

                       

=   30 -  8 + 25        

                           

=   47        

                           

The 5th term is 47.
