Find the axis of symmetry for F(x) = 6x² + 60x + 8

Solution

a=6, b=40

Axis of symmetry = -b/2a

                                   =  -(60)

                                       2 x 6

                                   =    -60

                                           12

                                    =   -5

                                            

Hence the axis of symmetry is -5 .
