Find the general term of an A. P. which has the 1st term of
-62 and common difference of 88.
Solution
A1 = -62, d= 88, n = n.
An = A1 + (n-1)d
= -62 + (n-1)88
= -62 + 88n-88
= 88n -88-62
= 88n - 150 [ since -88-62= -150 ]
∴ An = 88n - 150
Hence the
general term is 88n- 150.
