Find the slope of a line which passes through (3, 13) and (6, 8).

Solution

x₁ = 3,  y₁ =13,  x₂ = 6,  y₂ = 8.

m = y2 –y1

      x2 – x1

m =   8 –13

        6 –3

m =   -5

         3

Hence the slope is -5/3
