Find the slope of a line which passes through (3, -2) and (6, 6).

Solution

x₁ = 3,  y₁ =-2,  x₂ = 6,  y₂ = 6

m = y2 –y1

       x2 – x1

m =   -9 – 6

          6 – 3

m =   -15

           3

m =    -5

            

Hence the slope is -5
