COORDINATE GEOMETRY C5

Find the slope of a line which passes through (3, -2) and (6,-9).

Solution

x1 = 3,  y1 =-2,  x2 = 6,  y2 = -9

m = y2 –y1
     x2 – x1

m =   -9 –(-2)
          6 –3

m =   -9 + 2
           3

m =    - 7
           3

Hence the slope is -7/3

TRY THIS...............
