MAKING THE SUBJECT 1

If M = E(b + a)    make a the subject of the formula.
             (b – a)

Solution

M = E(b + a)
          (b – a)

(b – a) x M = E(b + a) x (b – a)   multiply by (b-a) on both sides.
                         (b – a)

(b – a) x M = E(b + a) open the brackets on both sides.

Mb – Ma = Eb + Ea

Mb – Eb = Ma + Ea   (collect the terms containing a together)

Mb – Eb = a(M + E)

Mb – Eb = a(M + E) 1               Divide by (M + u) on both sides.
(M + E)         (M + E) 1

Mb – Eb = a
(M + E)

Hence  a =   Mb – Eb
                      (M + E)

   TRY THIS………………….

 If M = u(c + A)    make A the subject of the formula.
               (c – A)
