SLOPE or GRADIENT - 2

Find the slope of a line which passes through (-8, -2) and (6,-11)

Solution

x= -8,  y=-2,  x= 6,  y= -11

m = y2 –y1
          x2 – x1

m =   -11 –(-2)
           6 –(-8)

m =   -11 + 2
           6 + 8

m =    - 9
           14

Hence the slope is -7/14
