CO-ORDINATE GEOMETRY-5

Find the slope of a line which passes through (-5, -2) and (6,-9)

Solution

x1 = -5,  y1 =-2,  x2 = 6,  y2 = -9

m = y2 –y1
       x2 – x1

m =   -9 –(-2)
           6 –(-5)

m =   -9 + 2
           6 + 5

m =    - 7
           11

Hence the slope is -7/11
