If a2 = 15; find the value of a4- 2a2

Solution

= a4- 2a2

= (a2)2- 2a2

= (15)2- 2(15)2 [ since a2 = 15]

= (225) - 2(225)

= (225) - (450)

= (-225)

a4- 2a2= (-225) answer

 If a2 = 12; find the value of a6- 2a2
