SETS 1

If n(B)= 60 , n(AuB) = 167 and n(AnB)=10, find n(A)

Solution

n(AuB) = n(A) + n(B) - n(AnB)

  167     = n(A)  + 60– 10

  167     = 60 -10 + n(A)

  167     = 50 + n(A)

  167 - 50        = n(A)

  117        = n(A)

Hence n(A) = 117 answer

TRY THIS…………………………….

If n(B)= 68 , n(AuB) = 163 and n(AnB)=14, find n(A)
