Calculate the value of 4x - k + 80 + y , when x = 8, k = 10 and y =− 33 .

 

Solution

 

=4x - k + 80 + y

 

=4(8) - 10 + 80 + (-33)

 

=4(8) - 10 + 80 + (-33)

 

=32 - 10 + 80 – 33

 

=32 + 80 – 10 – 33 (Grouping +ve and -ve no's together)

 

 

= 112 – 43

 

= 69 answer
