GRADIENT 1

Find the slope of a line which passes through (-10, -2) and (6,-9)

Solution

x1 = -10,  y1 =-2,  x2 = 6,  y2 = -9

m = y2 –y1
     x2 – x1

m =   -9 –(-2)
        6 –(-10)

m =   -9 + 2
        6 + 10

m =    - 7
         16

Hence the slope is -7/16
