Find the slope of a line which passes through (10, 4) and (6, 8)

Solution

x₁ = 10,  y₁ =4,  x₂ = 6,  y₂ = 8

m = y2 –y1

      x2 – x1

m =   8 –4

        6 –10

m =   4   = -1

       -4

Hence the slope is -1
