If n(A)= 173 , n(B)= 160 and n(AnB)=120, find n(AuB).

Solution

n(AuB) = n(A) + n(B) - n(AnB)

             = 173 + 160 – 120

             = 333 – 120

             = 213

Hence n(AuB) = 213 answer
