The nth term of a sequence is 26n -  8n². Find the 4th term.

Solution

=   26n -  8n²

=   (26x4) -  8(4)²   [ since n=4 ]

=   104 – (8 x 16) 

=   104 – 128

=   - 24

                                 

The 4th term is -24.
