GRADIENT 3

Find the slope of a line which passes through (-5, -4) and (6,-11)

Solution

x= -5,  y=-4,  x= 6,  y= -11

m = y2 –y1
       x2 – x1

m =   -11 –(-4)
          6 –(-5)

m =   -11 + 4
          6 + 5

m =    - 7
          11

Hence the slope is -7/11
