If n(A)= 50 , n(B)= 90 and n(AnB)=20, find n(AuB).

Solution

n(AuB) = n(A) + n(B) - n(AnB)

            = 50 + 90 – 20

            = 140 – 20

            = 120

Hence n(AuB) = 120 answer
