Find the slope of a line which passes through (1, 13) and (6, 8).

Solution

x₁ = 1,  y₁ =13,  x₂ = 6,  y₂ = 8

m = y2 –y1

       x2 – x1

m =   8 –13

         6 –1

m =   -5 = -1

          5

Hence the slope is -1
