COORDINATE GEOMETRY C10

Find the slope of a line which passes through (3, -2) and (6,-7).

Solution

x1 = 3,  y1 =-2,  x2 = 6,  y2 = -7.

m = y2 –y1
      x2 – x1

m =   -9 –(-7)
          6 –3

m =   -9 + 7
           3

m =    - 2
           3

Hence the slope is -2/3
