Find the axis of symmetry for f(x) = 5x² + 60x + 3

Solution

a=5, b=60.

Axis of symmetry = -b/2a

                               =  -(60)

                                    2 x 5

                               =    60

                                     10

                               =    6

                                      

Hence the axis of symmetry is 6
