Find the slope of a line which passes through (5,-8) and (-7,1)

Solution

x₁=5, y₁= -8, x₂= -7 y₂=1

m =  y2 –y1

        x2 – x1

m =  1 –(-8)

        -7 – 5

m =     9³

         - 12⁴

m =  - 3

           4

Hence the slope is 3/4
